By default, DotNetNuke only remembers logins for 60 minutes. I'm really not sure why that would be the default setting, but it is. If you want to adjust your portal to remember people for much longer, you have to edit the web.config file and look for the following line: < forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="60" cookieless="UseCookies" />. The timeout="60" is the part to change. I set my value to 2160, which is 2 weeks.

You can also add another value to the line so that every time a user logs in, their timeout is reset. This value is slidingExpiration="true". My line looks like this: < forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="20160" slidingExpiration="true" cookieless="UseCookies" />

Hi Mel,

I remember resolving this issue and your members reporting that it had been fixed. Has the issue re-surfaced? I will send you an email shortly so that we can address your questions. Also, our phone number is forwarded to the person who is most available for our clients. You must have called at a time that I was out of town.

Cheers,

-Sheppe
