Windows 7 has been released, and a lot of people are probably wondering whether or not they should upgrade. I've been running Windows 7 for several months now, thanks to RC1 being made available to the general public, and I have to say that Microsoft has knocked this one out of the park.

Windows 7 is a pleasure to use, its interface is intuitive and simple--yet highly customizable--and everything just works. I installed it on my 3 year old notebook, and the only item that I had to download drivers for was the touchpad. Microsoft has cleaned up all of the excess weight that Vista introduced, and kept all of the good features, and more. In my opinion, Windows 7 is the best thing that has happened to operating systems in a long time.

To add to my original post: I recently purchased a new HP Pavilion dv6 with Windows 7 Home Premium. The number of features that this low-end version of Windows ships with is outstanding; basically this low-end version contains all of the features of Windows Media Center and more. The notebook ships with a remote control (ala a TV remote, but very small), and with the notebook plugged into my HD TV via HDMI, I have to say that this is one of the best media experiences I've had. Once again, I cannot stress enough that this new version of Windows is what we've all been wait and hoping for.

Microsoft will release Windows 8 very soon. Is it popular like '95, '98 and XP professional?
